It is our deepest pleasure to be able to introduce you to WITHIN KINGSTON , the limestone city's very own Magazine for the Earth, Body and Spirit. Created with you in mind.

Our Goal: To motivate, inspire, and challenge ourselves and everyone around us so that we may expand our understanding of why we're here on this planet while celebrating and respecting the gift that each moment brings us in our day to day lives.

In September of 2003 and in June of 2004, both Vanessa and I arrived at an extraordinarily intense transitional point in our lives where we began to seek a deeper sense of fulfillment and purpose. I was working at the Kingston Whig Standard as the weekend photographer while enrolled in the photojournalism program at Loyalist College in Belleville Ontario, and Vanessa was enrolled in the animation program at St. Claire College in Windsor Ontario.

For various serendipitous reasons, we both decided to pack up what little things we had and move out to Vancouver British Columbia within one year of each other without ever having met.

For the following three years, Vanessa and I embarked on a soul searching journey on the west coast while planting ourselves in the spiritual community out there. I mingled with hippies and gurus and Ness did the same. It wasn't until our paths crossed in March of 2006 that we were able to recognize that something very special had begun for the both of us. We didn't quite know what that was at the time, but as we moved forward together, we began to see that our backgrounds complimented one-another in many unusual ways. We soon discovered that our creative zest for life was matched by the other. It wasn't long before our desire to help expand self-awareness in ourselves and in others became the driving force in our lives.

After agreeing that our Vancouver-soul searching days were over, Ness and I packed up our things again and drove 4700 kms across the USA back to Kingston to begin implementing our dream into reality. The result: Within Kingston Magazine.

Within Kingston Magazine, combines life enriching stories with science-based articles to help inform readers about the mind, body and spirit.

We hope to inspire a deeper celebration of life Within you.
